The March 8^th International Women's Day was celebrated with various events at Izmir University of Economics (IUE). The events, coordinated by IUE Gender and Women's Studies Research and Application Center (EKOKAM), brought together academic and administrative staff and students. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE), which has undertaken numerous exemplary projects in the fields of gender equality, discrimination, and combating violence against women, received an award from Istanbul. 

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) has put into effect the 'Gender Equality Plan' by initiating an exemplary project to raise awareness against violence and discrimination against women.

Izmir University of Economics (IUE) draws attention to the problems faced by women via a weeklong activities and events as part of the International Women’s Day celebrated on March 8 worldwide. Itır Bağdadi, Director of EKOKAM (Social Gender and Women Studies Research and Application Centre) and Lecturer at IUE Department of Political Science and International Relations, stressed that discussion of women’s rights and violence against women should not be confined to a single day.
